Sharon P. Clayborne Staff Diversity Award Request for Nominations
The Sharon P. Clayborne Staff Diversity Award was established to recognize HMS and HSDM staff members who have made significant achievements in moving the Schools toward being a diverse and inclusive community. Nominations should include an individual or a group who has demonstrated a significant commitment to enhancing diversity above and beyond their job responsibilities. To be eligible, staff must work directly for HMS or HSDM (receiving a Harvard paycheck). Self-nominations are accepted. An online nomination form is at http://www.mfdp.med.harvard.edu/awards/diversity/index.html. The deadline is August 14.
Armenise–Harvard Foundation Offers Grants for Italian Scientists
The Armenise–Harvard Foundation is seeking applications for the Career Development Award. The award provides from three to five years of support for newly independent Italian scientists, currently living outside of Italy, who wish to return to the country and who have a willing host institute. The funding includes salaries for the grant recipient and other research staff associated with the designated program. While an annual equipment/infrastructure allowance is also included, the host institute must provide the facilities and equipment necessary to carry out the proposed research. Applications must be made online by July 15. Please note that short-listed candidates will be required to attend an interview in Italy on Friday, Nov. 6.
